103- The oxygen mask analogy

There’s something wrong with the oxygen mask analogy.
The one that tells us to put on our mask first in the event of an emergency.

It implies that we only need to care for ourselves in times of emergency. But emergencies are scarce, while our needs are not. They require regular #maintenance , like a flower in a pot.

And while maintenance doesn’t sound sexy, it’s undeniably necessary – and far less painful than dealing with an emergency.
