Riding as a passenger on the back of a motorcycle in Nairobi is exhilarating.
They drive you straight through red lights, onto sidewalks, and weave between cars with reckless abandon.
The continuous feeling of near-death moments generates a constant dose of stress and adrenaline.
But if your close your eyes, the experience is entirely different. The oncoming traffic disappears, and all you feel is the soft breeze of the wind on your face, the sound of traffic floating past, and the occasional bump as the motorcycle hits a pothole.
Learning to #surrender into a situation is counterintuitive, but it might be the right move if you trust those around you. On the flip side, if you’re the driver, it might not be a good idea to close your eyes.
