301- Space vs. Earth

In the Colonizing Space vs. Saving the Planet debate, a common argument is that we should stop thinking about going to space and focus on protecting what we have right here on Earth.

As an environmental activist, my instinct has always been to agree with team Earth. However, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that the conversation is not an either/or but a yes/and.

Survival in space is fundamentally about themes vital to our survival on Earth: maximum resource efficiency, circular system design, and scientific communication & collaboration, along with the themes of hope, adventure, and possibility.

With a global economy of $447 Billion, space investments represent less than 1% of the Global Economy to explore what it takes to survive and thrive in the harshest and most inhospitable environments.

Edges are where we often experience the most growth. Space is no different.
