186- Shy Opportunities

On my 8 hour flight between Frankfurt and Nairobi, I found myself sitting next to a lady that was not only a fellow environmentalist but with whom I shared numerous mutual friends.

Conversation flowed easily between us as we exchanged the reasons we were coming to Kenya and what we were looking forward to accomplishing while here. Excitedly, we exchanged resources and information.

Only one problem: We didn’t start talking until the seatbelt sign turned on and we were preparing for landing.

Sometimes, opportunities are hidden right next to us but we’re simply too shy to reach out and find them.

Note for self: Start conversations sooner rather than later. Worst case there’s nothing to talk about.
