When it comes to dating, it’s helpful to have a wingman or wingwoman hype you up before a conversation, regardless of how attractive or desirable you may be.

The wing-person can brag on your behalf in ways that you never could do on your own – setting the stage for you to talk about yourself.

The same applies in a networking setting or one where you’re simply looking to make new friends.

It’s the difference between someone saying: “Oh, this is the person you need to talk to,” and you saying, “I’m the person you need to talk to.”

One is desirable, the other, obnoxious.

Whenever possible, find that wing-person – or be that wing-person for someone else.
