37/365 – ” How do you find harmony? ”
In contact dance, change is constant as two unique bodies (or more) seek to maintain a continuous state of balance.
In the dance, there are no winners or losers – just bodies moving and trying to maintain a constant state of harmony.
The harmony is maintained through a firm understanding of self, keen awareness of the other, and a solid grasp of the environment we find ourselves in.
How can we take those lessons into an everyday social setting? How do we create harmony in a space where we feel like we don’t fit in? How can we change ourselves or the environment – and in doing so, change how others react or relate to us?
There’s probably no silver bullet, but asking the question may just be the first step.
